Complimentary T-Shirts will be given out at registration and can be worn for the challenge or the afters, these are proper sports shirts, 140GSM Fabric, Fully breathable moisture wicking material, 4 way stretching fabric for extra comfort, Flat Lock comfort stitching. (sounds like it will almost do the rowing for you !)
Courses for 2018.

There are 5 courses available on event day. All courses start and finish at Kenmare pier.

Course 1 (yellow) = 10km Multi craft
Course 1 heads West to turn right passing Dromquinna Manor on your left to head back towards Kenmare passing Dunkerron Islands.
The 10km will take on average between 1 to 2 hours to complete.

Course 2 (blue) = 20km Multi craft
Course 2 heads West beyond Dinish Island (LHS) to turn right facing Dromore Castle, following the shore with Cuss strand on the left, passing Dromquinna Manor on your left to head back towards Kenmare passing Dunkerron Islands.
The 20km will take on average between 2 to 3 hours to complete.

Course 3 (red) = 30km Multi craft
Course 3 heads West (left) passed Dinish Island towards the Atlantic ocean,turns right for Blackwater pier, turning towards Kenmare passing Dromore Castle,following the shore with Cuss strand on the left, passing Dromquinna Manor on your left to head back towards Kenmare passing Dunkerron Islands.
The 30km will take on average between 3 to 4 hours to complete.

Course 4 (green) = 10km Kayak only
Course 4 is a more purpose build course for Kayakers which will entail more twists and turns - designed by Colin Wong
The 10km will take on average between 1 to 2 hours to complete.

Course 5 (purple) = 15km Kayak only
Course 5 some what longer is also a more purpose build course for Kayakers which will entail more twists and turns - designed by Colin Wong
The 15km will take on average between 1.5 to 2.5 hours to complete.

Just a note;  There is a peel back plan for different situations with respect to the weather if required and will be discussed at the safety briefing on the morning of the event. 

Participants.

Persons allowed to enter: Anybody over 16 years of age using an oar, scull or paddle in any type of boat, kayak, canoe, paddle board competent to row & complete any of the 5 courses.

Prizes.

1. An individual medal will be awarded to each participant for completing the challenge as well as a  WAC T-shirt before the challenge at resistration.

  • 1st 20k course Male, Mixed, Female in its class (class determined by boat type/age)

  • 1st 10k kayak/Canoe course Male, Mixed, Female in its class (class determined by boat type/age)
  • 1st 15k Kayak/Canoe course Male, Mixed, Female in its class (class determined by boat type/age)
Prize giving.

1. All individual medals will be given immediately after completing the event and can be collected at Kenmare Pier (finish).

2. All other prizes will be presented when all competitors have completed the course at Kenmare pier (finish) .
